Homestay Accommodation in Eastbourne

Homestay

The best way to experience British life

We recommend homestay as the best way to experience British life and culture and to practise your English by living with a British host or family.

This is an excellent way to meet English people and practise your English. At LTC Eastbourne, we are proud of our host families and the positive feedback they get from students.

You will be the only person who speaks your language* in the house (unless you ask to be with a friend), and because you have to speak English every day, you will learn English faster.

We get feedback from all students and our homestay officer visits all our host families regularly to make sure:

  • Host families give our students a warm and friendly home
  • They treat students as part of the family
  • The house is clean and comfortable

Your bedroom will have:

1) A comfortable bed – at least standard size
2) A wardrobe and a chest of drawers
3) A mirror
4) A table, chair and lamp for studying (not always available for short term students at busy times)

The room will be cleaned at least once a week, and you will have fresh bed linen and towels every week.

All adult students have a single room (unless you ask to share with a friend).  Younger students may have to share, but this will be agreed when you book. Students who come to LTC as part of a group will normally be put in the same host family as another student from their group.

Food at your accommodation

Our host family accommodation for adults is normally is half-board, which means your host will offer breakfast and your evening meal on weekdays plus lunch at weekends. On school days, you can buy lunch at the restaurant at the school. You will receive breakfast and an evening meal every day.

Younger students will also have a hot lunch at the school during the week as part of their programme.

Please note: under British Council regulations, homestay families can have a maximum of four students.  We have a small number of host families which take more than four students.  These host families are classed as PRIVATE HOME ACCOMMODATION.

In busy periods, some adult students may be placed in Private Home Accommodation. Please tell us if you do not wish to stay in Private Home Accommodation.
