The British summer is an exciting time in our language schools. It’s a time when it seems the whole of Europe travels to towns and cities around the UK to learn English and enjoy the sunshine!

Afternoon courses in LTC Eastbourne:

We still have some availability on our summer afternoon English course in Eastbourne.

At LTC we try to use the web to provide as much information as possible to our students before they arrive. The idea is to ‘open a window’ onto the experience they’ll have in the UK at our schools in London, Brighton and Eastbourne. We believe that this means that students will arrive in the UK better prepared, more excited and also a little less nervous about their stay!

So if it’s information about the nearest coffee shop to the school for coffee addicts, the nearest place to play tennis for those inspired by Wimbledon, or the location of their homestay, our Google Maps are a great place to start the search for information.

LTC Brighton was the first school to integrate its Google Map into pre-arrival information for this summer. You can find our map at http://bit.ly/ltc-b-map so far we’ve had over 600 clicks.

We’re pleased to publish our 2012 prices in the form of our new Dates and Fees booklet, which is available from our downloads page, and on the prices pages on this website.

2012 will see the launch of new afternoon general English courses in the new LTC London school, and a new work-experience programme for EU/EEA students also at LTC London.

You can still book courses at 2011 prices if your booking is made, and paid for, by the 31/12/11. This applies to tuition fees only. Accommodation and services will be charged at 2012 rates.

We are pleased to announce a new Principal at LTC Eastbourne.  Clare Watson recently returned to the UK from working in Macau and took up her post with us on 20^th February.   She says, “I’m really happy to be working in such a reputable school as LTC.  The building really is beautiful and elegant and there is so much history here.  It’s truly unique.”

The former Principal of LTC Eastbourne, Paul Clark, is now working as Director of Marketing for LTC UK.  “I had six wonderful years as Principal of LTC Eastbourne,” he says.  “Now I’m really looking forward to working with all three schools to strengthen our position in the market.”

You can find details of our unique English + Business Skills courses on our Downloads Page.  For these courses, students study English at LTC in the mornings and then take a Business Skills course at the nearest Pitman Training Centres in London, Brighton and Eastbourne.

Pitman Training are one of Britain’s largest private providers of skills training for office work.  Their highly flexible courses are suitable for students of any nationality whose English is at intermediate level (B1).  They run both long and short courses that offer both practical training for vocational qualifications and opportunities for students to practise using their English outside the language classroom.

With summer approaching fast and our summer courses beginning in Eastbourne and London next week, and Brighton the week after, we’d like to remind you that information about last minute availability and the status for weeks in later July and August can be found on our website on our availability page.

It’s not every day you get a letter from Buckingham Palace, but we received one this morning.  A could of weeks ago, as part of a class project, some of our Colombian students from Colegio San Bartolome in Bogota wrote letters to the Queen.

They were thrilled this morning when we got a reply from the Queen’s Lady-in-Waiting.  And what a nice reply it was!
