Historical Landmarks
Eastbourne has an extensive history, with remains suggesting that the town stretches as far back as the Stone Age and beyond. With such history, there is no surprise there is also an abundance of significant historical landmarks and points of interest in and around the town.
From Eastbourne Pier, a pleasure pier which opened in 1870, to The Wish Tower, one of 103 gun towers built on the south and east coast as part of anti-invasion preparations during the Napoleonic Wars, there is loads to see in Eastbourne.
